Inspiron 15 7559 Will NOT Power On

Hadn't used my laptop in about a week and when I turned it on, the keyboard lit up, Dell splash screen came on and the windows (10) icon showed up...then it just went dark.  Pushing the power button again, the keyboard lit up and immediately shut down.  I thought perhaps the battery was discharged, so plugged in the AC adaptor.....and although the adapter's blue light was glowing, the laptop's front-edge power-indicator light did NOT come on.  The same problem reoccurred when attempting to start up.  I have tried the various test methods mentioned on this site (including those done with the battery removed), to no avail.  Again, Pushing the power-button causes it to light up and the keyboard to flash momentarily....and nothing else.

Any suggestions?

Hi TOMMAD,

Please check if there is any damage on the machine. Check if all the ports on the machine are fine or misaligned. Sometimes if the pins in the USB ports are touching each other, they are known to cause many issues on the machine.

Disconnect the adapter and battery and press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to release any static power. Then test the system with the adapter only / battery only.

Press and hold the fn key + power button to turn on the system and it should initiate the diagnostics - check for any possible beep codes.

Run the LCD bist - Turn off the system and press and hold the "D" key + power button to turn on the system and it should run the LCD built in self test - see this link for more info - http://dell.to/1SkXNrG

Download the service manual - http://dell.to/24b8q7H- and disconnect the memory modules / HDD and check if the system detects the absence of the memory modules.

If nothing works, then I would suspect a motherboard failure.

If there is no warranty, then you could contact our team to get a quote for a paid service call - http://dell.to/1vnT6CQ

Also, please click my DELL-username and write me a private message with the service tag and your Name for case records.

Let us know if you have any other queries.

Contact Dell to arrange warranty repair - it's most likely the system board is faulty and needs replacement.

None of these tests work.  SOme more information:  with the battery removed, pugging in the power-supply activates the front edge light....but it blinkds when I select those tests.

The laptopn is 2 months ild, never been of out office, never been dropped, etc.   Maybe the pwer switchis bad?

I did call Dell for support; the technician walked me thru most of the diagnostic steps already mentioned above.  Finally he told me that he was making arrangements for warranty service, but it would take "30 to 40 minutes"...did I want to hold or get a call back.  I asked for a callback....that was two hours ago, and still no callback.
