Inspiron 15 no status light
Why is the status light only on when the power is attached to the computer ? It is never on when the computer is on so when you turn it off it is very hard to tell if it really shut down!!

It is a power and battery-status light only and not a cpu usage light.
According to Inspiron 15 Reference Guide :
" Indicates the power and battery status of the computer.
White - Battery is getting charged
Amber - Battery is low or critical.
Off - Computer is plugged in and the battery is fully charged.
Computer is running on battery and battery has more than 10% charge."
