Inspiron 1501 Moden stopped working
My modem stopped working - acts just like the phone cord is not connected. But, it is connected and has a dial tone. I replaced the modem but still have the same problem. I even reformatted the hard drive and reinstalled Windows XP, still have same problem. I ran Dell's Modem Helper and received the following message/error:
"Dial tone test failed."
"There is a dial tone coming into the modem but the modem can not hear it."
"Result code: 70 - there is no dial tone at the modem."
Any suggestions of what to try next?
