Inspiron 1501 power adapter

The power adapter for my Inspiron has died (the green light on the adapter that comes on when plugged in flashes for a second and goes off, computer doesn't recognize it's plugged in). I was looking into buying a replacement and see that this is a 90W adapter however found another one that says it's for this model Dell but the power is only 65W. Will that still work? If it works will it perform differently (such as maybe take longer to charge the battery)?
