Inspiron 1525 HD

has anyone had a problem with their HD being fried?

Ran the diagnostics, and it says some blocks were misplaced or missing

try to partition and formart that drive, if still the same problem contact dell technical support for replacement. only if you are still under warranty. if not they can still send you a quotation on the drive.

Hard drives are easily the least reliable component of any computer system - they can and do fail regularly.

If your system is under warranty, call Dell with the exact diagnostic error and request a pre-imaged replacement drive.

If it's out of warranty, you can use any 2.5" 9.5 mm SATA notebook drive you wish as a replacement.
