Inspiron 1525 display not working...
Specs: Vista home premium 32bit, recently fresh re-install of OS and everything else!
Misc info:
Display adapter: Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family
Driver for above: 8.15.10.1930 by Intel
Has been working since the rebuild and sudenly (it's possibly I might have installed something, not sure) I lost the video on my notebook.
I have video on my external monitor (via vga 15pin) and via the HDMI, no sweat!
I was thinking maby went bad, but I noticed when I play w/various display options, ie, notebook only, extended, etc... it blinks on, in fact consistenly when I select notebook only, I get video long enough for me to click [using the notebook screen] ok, then it goes blank, then I have to hit function f8 to get the video back on the external monitor.
I've downloaded the latest compatible drivers at no avail.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!

Do not install the "latest" driver from Intel. Get your original video driver from Dell--Drivers and Downloads. Video drivers are customized by Dell and rarely need updating unless it comes from Dell.

Thanks for the speedy reply...
One thing I did not think about, ALL my drivers came from the Dell site, NEVER from anywhere else, I don't trust any one else!

Well, I'm back to square one! Finally works using my external monitor.
I'm looking at my installed drivers, I have a question...
Why my DirectX diags show one version and the Device mgr another?
DirextX reports, 8.14.0010.1930 (English), Driver date, 9/23/2009
Device mgr shows, 8.15.10.1930, Driver date, 9/23/2009
Thanks a million for any suggestions.
