Inspiron.1525 laptop

Hello i really hope you can help.I want to disable the scroll touch pad but have no idea how to.My husband bought me this laptop from cash converters today.I have tried the control panel but there is nothing there for touch pad. Can i actually lock the scroll touch pad because every time im typing the mouse arrow goes crazy where i have brushed my hand over it,if that makes sense to you can you help me please?
