Inspiron 1545 stuttering audio play back on Windows 7 64bit OS platform Using integrated IDT HD Driver version: 6.1.7601.17514

I know that there are those who have shared some ideas on this, but I have not found a fix.  This has resulted from an update from Windows, though there were no updates directly related to Audio Drivers.  Any suggestions?!

Hi anoiddelllt1545 ,

Welcome to the community

It seems like the issue is with the Audio drivers. You can try to update the Audio drivers using the following link:

http://dell.to/KOTtm9

If again it does not make any difference to it, you can try to disable the enhancement inside the AUDIO properties by following these steps:

Also check with a pair of headphones if the audio stutters, if they work fine probably the issue with the speakers. Please let me know your findings.

You did  not say what fixes you have already tried. There is a known problem with a Microsoft update that causes audio noise specifically in the 1545. The solution is discussed on page 3 of the thread

Stuttering/Buzzing Sound During Audio/Video Playback

The solution given is to downloaded and install the most recent version of Intel Rapid Storage Technology to replace the bad update that came in the summer of 2011.

The IAANTmon.exe program is part of a package that was probably installed automatically, without your knowledge, during a routing Windows Update.  It apparently can be removed by going to Add/Remove programs in the Control Panel and removing the service named “Intel(R) Matrix Storage Event Monitor Service”.

You must also remove “IAAnotif.exe” from your Startup if it is there.

Try this and reboot your system to see if it cures things. Fixed me right away
