Inspiron 15R Touchscreen Gone

So for the first 10-12 days, my Inspiron 15R worked great. Then one day, out of nowhere, the touch screen just stops working. I looked for the driver on my computer, but it has disappeared. I then took to the Dell forums, and found someone with the same problems. I followed the same advice they had been given, but they were ultimately instructed to use the disc that came with the laptop. My computer very specifically did NOT come with a disc, so I don't know what to do. I like the setup of the computer, but it is much more difficult to navigate without the touchscreen. Please help!

If a factory restore doesn't solve the problem (start the Dell Backup and Recovery utility), the system needs a warranty repair - screen and/or mainboard replacement.

Hi Urg,

Inspiron 15R comes in different variants like Inspiron N5010, N5110, 5520, 5537 and 7520. Please share the exact system model.

Please share the screenshot of Device Manager with Display adapters expanded.

  • Press ‘Windows’ key + R on ‘Desktop’ screen
  • Type ‘devmgmt.msc’ in run box and press ‘Enter’
  • Click > sign next to ‘Display adapters’

Keep me posted with the results. I will be glad to assist you further.
