Inspiron 15z Front status lights not glowing (Does not show any indication)

Hi,

 I have bought a new dell inspiron 15z ultrabook recently from microsoft store US .my cousin has carried it to india.When I started using it I have found  front status lights of the laptop are not glowing (working). Are there any settings to make them work or its purely a hardware issue.

I have tried diagnostics run at startup as suggested in forums.Diagnostics just passed.
