Inspiron 1750 will not connect to internet.
My father-in-law is visiting me in the UK. His Inspiron 1750 (bought in the UK) was working fine in India. But it wouldn't connect to internet here. It connects to the router but local only, no internet. Same with LAN connection. Its Windows Vista Home basic,Dell 1397 WLAN mini card, WEP sucurity connection with O2 router. All our other computer are working fine, no issues. I have tried the usual suggestions, resetting adapter, PING (even though I don't know what to make of it !), etc.
I am slightly worried thats its not working either for WiFi or the LAN. Could this be more serious ? Any suggestions ?

Run ipconfig /all in a Command Prompt window. Tell us what it says.

You need to go into the properties for the wireless adapter and change it from the static IP it has now to DHCP (dynamic IP).
