Inspiron 17R 5737 RAM not recognized
Hello,
I bought and installed Kingston 4 GB 1600 MHz RAM module (http://www.kingston.com/en/memory/search/?partid=kvr16s11s8/4 )for my Inspiron 17R 5737 (it already has Samsung 4 GB 1600 MHz module) but it does not get recognized.
This is the picture of them side by side: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hd0rtblkbdenc4b/2015-02-07%2001.38.34.jpg?dl=0
I only hear light beep.
Please help.

That RAM will not work with your system - you need DDR3L memory (1.35V). What you have purchased is 1.5V DDR3.
If you wish to use Kingston RAM, this is the correct memory:
Part Number: KTD-L3CL/4G
Specs: DDR3L, 1600MHz, Non-ECC, CL11, X8, 1.35V, Unbuffered, SODIMM, 204-pin

Ew...
Thank you very much...
I even put it in HP laptop and it workded (guess that laptop needs 1,5V RAM) and I was worried that my Dell is broken...
Again, thank you very much!

Until the fourth-generation Haswell CPUs were released, most newer systems could run either DDR3 or DDR3L -- the memory controller in the Haswell systems will run only DDR3L RAM.
