Inspiron 17R - Speaker static
Hi.I am getting a continuous static sound from the speakers and through the headphone. The volume control does not change the volume of the static and when the vol slider is set to 0 the static goes away.
there is no sound when playing any audio file.
I have tried the following.
Reinstalled sound drivers, run Dell diagnostic tests , and windows troubleshooter all with no problems found. Any thought on this ... thanks.

Hi,
When the system boots up do u hear the windows boot sound and does that have issues. Does the static happen when the volume is increased on both the headphones and speakers.

No sound at boot and no issues with windows starting. Static is there on speaker and headphone when volume is increased. goes away when volume is at zero.

No audio through either speakers or headphones? No red x or slash through audio icon?
