Inspiron 5537 USB 2.0 ports issues

I bought a new Inspiron 5537 laptop a few days ago. After installing Windows 8.1 and drivers from Dell using my service tag, everything was fine except that after BIOS update from A07 (already was installed on the laptop) to A08, the two USB 2.0 ports don't recognize any device attached to it although they are recognized when attached to USB 3.0 ports. After that i tried to load default settings in BIOS but that didn't solve the problem. The devices i attach to USB 2.0 are powered up but not recognized neither in BIOS (ex; installing windows using a bootable flash device) nor in Windows. Help would be much appreciated.

Hi Atayef,

Good work on troubleshooting. I would suggest you to run the test on USB ports on the system.

1.       Open the link http://dell.to/14YjKb2

2.       Select ‘Hardware’ under ‘Choose a Diagnostic Type’.

3.       Select ‘USB’.

4.       Click on ‘Run Diagnostics’ button.

5.       Let me know if the results.
