Inspiron N5030 white screen after logging on
Hello,
Just wondering if anyone can help me. Last night when putting my laptop down on a table, it suddenly turned off for no apparent reason. Since then, when I turn it on it seems fine for a moment (going through the Windows loading screen and the Windows 7 welcome screen) and just as it seems like my desktop will appear the screen goes white, apart from the cursor which I can still move about. I can use ctrl alt del to log off, and as it log offs my desktop background appears for a moment with all the icons. However, when using ctrl alt del to start the task manager to see if it will open to allow access to my desktop, the screen goes white again. The same happens when I load the system in Safe Mode - logging off with ctrl alt del shows the desktop working fine for a moment as it closes down any running programs.
I've used system restore through pressing F8 at start up, as well as system file checker, but still getting the white screen. It doesn't seem to be a hardware issue - the desktop is loaded and running, just hidden behind this blank white screen.
Anyone have any advice on what to do next?
Thanks

Hi,
Did you make any software changes before this issue started? I would suggest you to boot the system into BIOS and check. To boot the system into BIOS, keep tapping F2 key on restart and you will see the BIOS screen. If you are able to view the screen clearly, would recommend you to load defaults by clicking on the Load Defaults tab.
Restart the system and check.
If the problem still persists, would suggest you to boot the system into safe mode. To boot the computer in safe mode, please switch on the computer and start tapping the F8 key which would take you to Advanced Boot Option screen. Using the up and down arrow key, select Safe Mode with networking to boot the computer into Safe Mode.
Once you are in safe mode, uninstall the display adapter from device manager. Click on Start and type device manager, click on Display Adapter and do a right click on the available adapter and select uninstall. Restart the computer and load the system and check if the issue is resolved.
For the display adapter refer to the picture below to:

Please reply with the results.
Thanks and Regards
