Inspiron i7-7779 Boot sequence question

FedEx just dropped off my new i7-7779 2 in 1 laptop with two drives. A 1Tb HDD and a 128Gb SSD. Can someone explain to me why it is setup to boot from the Hard Disk and not the Solid State Drive. I apparently assumed that operating system and programs are loaded on the uber fast SSD leaving the pokier old Hard Drive to contain the massive amounts of pictures my wife seems to take.

Thanks,

Probably the 128 GB drive is being used as a cache drive.  To check, open the Intel utility and see if acceleration is enabled.  This type of configuration is supposed to speed up drive access by keeping often accessed data on the faster SSD.

Since the drive is so large, part of it might be used as data storage.
