Is there any known problems with always closing a Dell INspiron 1525 in hibernate mode?

Is there any harm in never shutting down a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop in a controlled shutdown manner? There is a debate in my family about whether just closing the lid and leaving in hibernate mode, overnight and part of the day also, is likely to cause any issues

Does anyone know the answer?

Closing up for Sleep or Hibernate mode should cause no problems. However, my M1530 with Vista would get flaky after several days of in-and-out of sleep mode.and needed a reboot every once and a while. After upgrading to Windows 7, the Sleep mode works very good. Don't use hibernate mode, as each time you close the cover, the system writes everything in memory to the hard disk before going to sleep and needs to reload after opening the cover. If you don't leave unsaved files open, use the sleep mode; it's faster.
