Issue Tiptel 112 USB Phone and Latitude E5510 not working together

The combination Tiptel 112 USB phone + Latitude E5510 results in a "Device not recognized" from Vista (Enterprise SP2). Change the T112 by any other model OR the E5510 by any other model and it works. Extensive search have revealed that the problem arises very early, during the USB-high speed negotiation. We think that the Tiptel a USB 1 device is, while the Latitude attempts to negotiate a USB 2 conversation. It is NOT a power surge. No workaround has been found yet (settings, cabling, etc..).

You can probably fix this by connecting through a USB-hub.

The problem with the Tiptel 112 is broader BTW. I have had problems with these when upgrading from Windows 7 to 8 or 10. Under 7 no problems, after a clean install on the same system: "Not recognized".

Even though they DID work on freshly delivered Dell-laptops with Win 8.

This has baffled me for years, and even Tiptel was surprised by it, but reading the above made me try to connect through a powered USB-hub from Trust: fixed!
