[L400] Battery Auto-Learning problems

Hi all!

I've recently purchased a new battery for my L400 and wanted to auto-learn it's capacity. While discharged, i pluged my laptop in, booted to bios and enabled the auto-learning feature. Restarted, auto-learning kicks in and starts the first step, being fully charging the battery (the "icon" represented a pluged-in cord). But when the battery was fully loaded (100%) the program didn't ask to turn auxilary power off,it didn't do a thing. I waited for like half an hour, still nothing, so I decided to plug the power cord off. But the program didn't turn to phase 2, which is discharging, instead it stayed in phase 1, and the progress bar started shrinking. The program was trying to get back to starting conditions I figure...

I've looked for a manual on this utility but failed, anyone knows anything ? Should I attend the learning process at all, or just leave it be until it finishes with the power cord plugged-in at all times?
