Laptop Overheating

I have a XPS M1330 that is a year old that gets quite hot after being on for about 30 minutes, enough so to affect software performance.  At times, the fan will run high to try and cool the device, but then it will run at regular speed.  Anyone else have this problem, and if so, were you able to remedy the situation short of returning the device to the manufacturer for repair?

Thanks in advance for any posts.

Does your 1330 have the Nvidia 8400 GPU? Have you updated to the latest bios? Most importantly, is it still under warranty? You may be getting close to having video problems. If you think you'll keep the thing for some time, consider an extended warranty if you haven't already. Video problems usually mean mobo relacement. Good luck.

Ridgetop, thanks for the replay.  I have now updated to latest bios (A11) and also noticed there is a new Nvidia driver for update (my machine does have the 8400).  I will update that as well to see if that clears the problem.  I do have extended warranty.

Thanks for the suggestions.
