Laptop Studio1747: upgrade USB2.0 to 3.0
Is it possible to upgrade my Laptop Studio1747 bought in 2009 from USB 2.0 to USB 3.0, since I want to buy a new external 3.5 inch harddisk with USB 3.0 (e.g. 3 TB cpacity) for backups. If possible, what do I need to buy and to do, any links? Thank you in advance!

Unfortunately, you cannot upgrade the USB ports. They are tied to the motherboard bus speed. If you add a usb 3.0 device to a system that has usb 2.0, the devices will only work at the USB 2.0 speed.
