Laptop crashes on unplugging from AC

When I unplug my laptop at first everything seems normal. Then whatever program is open begins to stop responding. Eventually the whole thing stops responding, including the start menu, OS, everything. I am forced to shut my laptop off, and then, I cannot load windows on boot! The only fix for that I have found is to keep turning it off on boot until I get to advanced options, and use system restore. Today this happened, and I was unable to restore, as I got an error saying my restore points were corrupted, and to check the disk. Something about entering chkdsk /r  I managed to make my laptop boot again by shutting it off during the bios loading, with the dell logo, and got a startup repair from dell option. I then launched the advanced options again, and launched startup repair, when I was unable to use system restore. It checked the disk, attempted to repair, rebooted, and worked. I am posting from it currently.
