Laptop is not showing the login window

I have a dell inspiron 5520 since last four years. Yesterday I uninstalled the amd catayst driver and then again reinstalled but a black screen appeared. I tried to start the laptop but was leaded to turn off the power button by holding it. Now the laptop is staring but no login window is opening instead of it a black window is opening and I am unable to login and use my laptop. Please give suggestions for problem.

Start with the Dell diagnostics - F12 at powerup to get to them.  Are there any errors that show up?

Hi JAYDEEP POPTANI,

What is the current OS installed on the system?

When you power on the machine, does it go past the Dell logo? If you are Windows 7 and if you see the Windows loading logo, then restart the system and press f8 on startup to get advanced boot options and try safe mode. If it boots to safe mode - uninstall the video driver from device manager and restart the system and install the video drivers - http://dell.to/29WcKn1

If you are on Win 8.1 / 10, then try this link for safe mode - http://bit.ly/1LHcO2c

Also, review the black screen related articles here - http://bit.ly/2mcrPHP or http://bit.ly/2nTzmxh or http://bit.ly/2mBDtOp

If you do not see the Dell logo on startup, then restart and press and hold the fn key + power button to turn on the system and it should initiate the diagnostics - check for any possible beep codes.

Also, please click my DELL-username and write me a private message with the service tag and your Name for case records.

Let us know if you have any other queries.
