Latitude 6430 - unable to change time/date on BIOS

Hi,

After taking the battery out and putting it back, my system time has been reset, which causes windows to crash when it's starting.

When I enter BIOS using F2 and entering my password, I can access to BIOS setup screen. However, after I change the date and time the 'apply' button is still inactive. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi kaaneroglu,

Load BIOS default on the computer.Restart the computer and tap F2 on Dell logo. Hit "Load  Default". Now try changing the date and time.

Under” General” select “Date and Time”.

Awaiting your response!

Thanks Rajesh.

The time has magically is corrected itself. Although, I am still unable to start Windows.

After 'starting' screen shows up, I receive a blue screen for half a second and laptop resets itself. Any thoughts?

ps. I am running Windows7 Enterprise on a company domain. ( I am not connected to company network)

Hi kaaneroglu,

May I know is your computer configured with RAID?

If it is no, then we need to change few settings in BIOS.

Restart the computer and tap F2 on Dell logo. Under “System Configuration” change the SATA operations to AHCI if it’s set to ATA and set it to “AHCI” if it’s set to ATA.

Now Save and exit BIOS. Check if the computer boots into windows.

Awaiting your response!
