Latitude E7440 not shutting down
I just purchased a new E7440 recently and most of the time, it will not shut down- the power light stays light, but display is off and the HDD light blinks every few seconds. If I leave it, it hibernates eventually but only shuts down when I actually hold down the power key.
The same thing happens if I restart instead of shut down.
I would appreciate any suggestions.

I reverted my bios back to A05, then updated one version at a time to the latest. That seemed to resolve the issue for me.

Bump.
Have the same problem with an E7440, running Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit. vA09 bios. When performing a shutdown, the machine just goes to blank screen. Wireless light remains lit, as well as hard drive activity light periodically blinking. Have to use power key hold to shutdown.
