Lost HDD Password Dell M6400
From a Dell M6400 we lost de HDD password. What procedure should i have follow to get the HDD password reset. The data on the HDD is not inportant.

From a Dell M6400 we lost de HDD password. What procedure should i have follow to get the HDD password reset. The data on the HDD is not inportant.

You should still be able to get into the BIOS setup and remove the CMOS component of the password (remove the hard drive, and then remove the BIOS password).
however, you CANNOT remove the password on the hard drive itself - the cheapest way to proceed once you've remove the BIOS portion, is to replace the drive with a new one.
Make sure you remove the BIOS portion of the password first, or any new drive you install will inherit the password.
