M1530 power lead connection doesn't go in fully

Snice new the power lead on my M1530 will not go fully home into the hole. It  I can still see about 3mm of the silver connector between the plug and the laptop casing, as a result of not going in fully the lead wobbles around and I am sure it will lead to premature failure of the connection - that will be a new motherboard.

 I had a Dell engineer come with a new mother board but when we tried the power connector on it we found that it would most likely be exactly the same as the one I already had on board so he didn't fit it.

 Has anyone else got the same problem ?
