Media Player 11-brightness video setting

Videos usually appear too bright, so I decrease the brightness video setting. But every time I play a new video, the setting goes back to normal.  How can I make this setting stay in one place? Also, why are wmv files much brighter than mpeg files, and require much more brightness reduction?

Thanks

For the brighness I'd supose that it's yur video decoder software that it's not set corectly or not working properly. It depends on what decoder you use, it's unlikely that this has something to do with your hardware or drivers.

The wmv, mpeg, mpeg2, avi, etc. are compresed video files, which is why you need a video codec to see them. Their side depends on the program that encoded them, their resolution and quality.
