Microphone Problems - Mobile Precision Workstation

Hello,

I have a mobile precision work station. When I goto record audio using the computers microphone my voice fades in and out. I will hear my voice for a few seconds, then it will fade out.

I have tried just about everything I can think of--updated and re-installed drivers. Changed all of the volume settings. But nothing seems to fix the problem. Does any one know a fix for this?

Hello. I don't know of that specific issue. Some generic suggestions:

Switch over from the manufacturer's audio driver (for example Realtek) to the Windows native audio driver. If you get the same symptom with both drivers then you can rule out the driver as the cause of the issue.

If you are using a Windows OS, you can test by booting up to Linux Live. If you get the same symptoms with both OSes then you can rule out the OS as the cause.

Disable all enhancements. Software that auto levels the gain can make the mic volume fade.

You ought to include the full model name of the laptop because there are many variations among models, and say which operating system you are using.
