Model 5748 - hardware file install problems from Dell Support website
Earlier today, I was working with a Dell tech on Live Chat who told me a bunch of files I saw on the Support page for someone's Model 5748 laptop should be installed as they were updates to the computer. I downloaded all the files then tried to install each one at a time. Three of them failed, I only remember one of them offhand. I then had to do a Restart of the computer, following this I went back to the same Support page and found all the files were still listed. Here are the 2 problems I have now.
1 - Is there a way to tell which of the three failed? With Windows Update, I can tell which update failed but I only remember one of the three that failed from Dell.
2 - Why does the Support website not update to remove hardware updates I have installed?
Really need to know because I still have to do the same for a Model 3847 Desktop.
