Mouse Pointer doesn't move for a while after booting.

On booting the Laptop the mouse pointer doesn't respond immediately and remains stationary for about 30-40 seconds before it starts responding. This happens even after trying to bring the laptop back from the sleep mode.Mine is a studio 15 laptop running on Windows 7 64 bit.please help.
