My Dell Inspiron 15R won't turn on

My dell inspiron 15R won't turn on. I've had it for about 3 years. The last time I turned it on the battery needed to be replaced. It also had an overheating problem. Now it won't turn on but when I plug it in the charger light is lite. I've tried disconnecting the battery and the charger and then holding down the power button for 10 seconds. Then I tried to connect it with just the charger. It didn't work. Do you guys have any suggestions?

If it has been overheating for any length of time, chances are the mainboard is toast.  Try removing the battery, unplugging the system and hold the power button for 30 sec. Remove and reinstall both memory modules.  If the system then won't power up, the mainboard likely needs to be replaced.
