Hi Hema Ramani,

Welcome to Dell community!

May I know if the red tint is seen at the Dell logo screen that appears when you first power on the laptop?

Refer the following link for instructions to run the LCD built-in diagnostics: http://dell.to/16eAVHe

Please check if the red tint appears during the diagnostics. Also, if you have an external monitor, connect it to the laptop and check if the display is fine on the external monitor.

Do let me know the results.

This is a physical hardware failure.

if it shows up on external monitor then its GPU/Motherboard Related.  If not its LCD related.

First, what model system is it?  And how old?

Does the fault show just on the internal screen or on the external as well?

Try a new cable - or a different monitor to see if the problem is with the monitor itself, or the cable.

It s only in the external monitor not with the internal screen.

Hi Hema Ramani,

Just to confirm – is the issue with the internal screen of the laptop or an external monitor that you are connecting to the laptop? I am confused since you have mentioned in your first post that the problem is with LCD.

Hi Hema Ramani,

Thank you for the clarification. Is it a Dell monitor? If yes, is it under warranty?

Hi Hema Ramani,

In that case, you may take the monitor to a local technician to check if it can be repaired.

Do me know if you have any further questions.
