My laptop makes a beeping noise when I try to turn it on and the screen stays black.
I have a Dell Inspiron. When I try to turn it on the screen remains black then starts making a beeping noise. There are 7 beeps followed by a pause and then it continues like that. What is the problem and how can I fix it?

Hi billy1nk,
I suggest that you shut the system down, remove the battery and disconnect the ac adapter, press and hold the power button for 20 to 30 seconds. Now connect only the ac adapter and wait for 30 seconds and turn on the system. This will drain any residual charge in the capacitors.
Please provide the system model to assist you further.

Hi. I have the same problem that the previous person had. I tried what you suggested but it didnt work. Are there any other options?
