New HDD - Inspiron 15R 5520

Hi All,

I have a HDD issues from a couple of months, I think they are related to HDD bad sectors (I have ran chkdsk a two times), to avoid major issues, I am planning to buy a new HDD, but the factory HDD contains software to restore my laptop as factory default (Operating system, dell software, etc). If I buy a new disk in Dell I suppose the new HDD will not contain all those programs if so How can I get all them into my new HDD?

Thanks in advance for your help

Regards,

Hi Franklin,

Thank you for writing to us!

Kindly private message the service tag of the system to check the warranty status. If the system is in warranty we will be able go ahead and run tests on the system and book a service call.

We would also suggest you to run an extended diagnostics on the system to confirm hard driver faillure.

Thanks

Just install a clean Windows 7 / 10 installation. No bloatware that came with the system.

Just backup all the personal files and buy a new drive.

A western digital black is faster then your internal seagate drive is my experience.

It just loads Windows 7 much faster then it did on the seagate one.

Or buy a Solid State drive :)
