New Hard Drive identified but causes "no boot device found" error
Hello,
Recently my computer (Inspiron 15 3521) was having hard drive malfunctions so I ran a diagnostic which resulted in me replacing the hard drive. I figured I'd upgrade from the old 500Gb to a Tb Hard drive.
Now when I install the new hard drive it results in a "no boot device found" I ran diagnostics on this and checked everything and it recognizes the hard drive. Advanced diagnostics turns nothing up yet the problem continues. Any help would be great!

The basic question: Did you install the Windows onto the drive? New drives arrive blank - you'll need the recovery media you made when you received the system to install the operating system onto the drive.

Sorry, I've never really worked much with technology (I'm a health science major) so this never occurred to me. That would be just a "Drivers Recovery Restore" disc that came with the computer or i can purchase?
