New Inspiron 15 5000 going to sleep when plugged in
Inspiron 15 5000 Series - 5570
Windows 10
I have the power set to NEVER go to sleep
I want the laptop to NEVER go to sleep and want the network to stay active too. Sharing some files on the home network.
Why and how do I change this behavior?
Thanks all and Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas -- Pick which one you prefer!

I'm assuming the system have the latest windows updates .....
Please make sure Never set at sleep in System settings. Type Settings onto [Cortana] search box, select System > Power & Sleep
Also make sure " Never" set in "Change When The Computer sleeps" - Additional Power Settings.
System> Power & Sleep> Additional Power settings

I found ANOTHER setting that apparently OVERRIDES the Windows settings. It is in the Dell power plan that shipped with this computer and is buried under lots of menus and links. . Thanks Dell... Sigh...
Setting is Settings/Power & Sleep/Additional power settings/Change plan settings/Change advanced power settings/Sleep/Sleep After....
Now I wonder what other settings Dell has installed that override the Windows settings. Does anyone know if there is a list somewhere?

If the sleep(never) option still does work:
Installing drivers through windows updates - Type Settings onto [Cortana] search box, Update & Security, select "Check for updates". If there're updates, select Restart Now. Do the process over and over until the latest windows updates are installed on the system. The Fall Creator update is the latest.

If the issue still isn't fix, I suggest you contact Technical Support in the link below for further assistance.
Keep in mind, you do have 30 days (Invoice date) of software support.
