No power - Inspiron15 7537

I hibernated my laptop in the evening and turned off the adapter and now it won't power up.  The adapter shows power is reaching the laptop but the power light does not show at the front of the laptop and pressing the power on key doesn't work.

None of the solutions on the Dell pages work as you seem to need to have the laptop on.  Any suggestions - is it the battery?

Thx David

Unplug the system, remove or disconnect the battery and hold the power button for 30 seconds.   Remove the base cover and remove and reinstall the memory module(s).  Verify that the LED on the AC adapter is ON before you connect the system end.  If it's not, the adapter is bad - replace it.

If the adapter checks out OK, connect it and power up the system without the battery.  If it will power up, but won't with the battery installed, the battery is faulty.

If it won't power up after the foregoing procedure, it's the mainboard that's faulty.

Thanks - tried this and all OK again.  After removing battery the laptop powered up OK.  Replaced the battery and still worked.
