Please help on Dell Inspiron 1520 :(
Friends,
I am getting NTLDR is missing and press ctrl + alt+del to restart - message as soon as system boots up.
So I am trying to get it repaired using my XP professional SP2 CD. I am on the screen where it asks for Recovery console Administrator password, which I don't remember.
I am basically stuck and have 100 of important documents on this laptop. Please advice how can I go overcome this Administrator password issue ?
Please help,
Jesica

First, back up your data:
Remove the hard drive, mount it into an external 2.5" shell (example below) and attach it to a working system by USB. Make a copy of your data files.
Then return the drive to your notebook, press F12 and boot to the Dell diagnostics. Run an extended hard drive test to verify the drive's hardware.
Where you go next depends on your plans for the system. XP goes end of life on April 9, 2014, meaning no further security updates, making it essentially useless for anything requiring an Internet connection - so, if you plan to keep the system, it's time to upgrade to Windows 7.
example of the hardware you'll need to make a backup:
