Pre-boot system assessment started automatically

Just a month ago, I bought a Dell Inspiron 14R, running on Windows 7 64-bit. A few days ago, each time I switched on my laptop in the morning, it ran the pre-boot system assessment automatically. The assessment ran fine, however it's kind of annoying, having to cancel or waste time running the assessment. I was wondering if I have accidentally edited any settings that might have caused this? Or is it a hardware problem causing it? Would be grateful if anyone can answer my questions regarding this issue and provide solutions to it.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Kirindes,

Welcome to the Community. The Pre Boot System Assessment normally starts when the FN button is pressed down, and you power on the computer. I am sure your not holding down the FN key, but there are chances that the FN key could be stuck. I would suggest to reseat your keyboard, using the below link, if that does not work, contact Dell Technical Support in your region, may need replace the keyboard.

Hope this helps.

Thank you
