Precision M6500, E-Port Plus and 2650 x 1440 resolution

I have a setup of an E-Port Plus docking station, a M6500 Precision Laptop and a U2713HM monitor that supports 2560 x 1440 resolution.  I am unable to get the monitor to display above the 1900 x 1080.  I've read some posting stating that the DVI ports won't support this resolution.  Is there a way to use this docking station and get it to use the dual monitors and get full resolution on the 2560 x 1440 monitor?  I've read recent post that say it cannot be done through the DVI ports so I'm wondering if there is any way to get the resolution.
