Revert to Windows 10 after Linux (XPS13)

Hi there,

I own a 2015 Dell XPS13 which got wiped at some point (including the system partitions) in order to install Linux. I'd like to revert back to Windows 10, but don't have any copies nor a rescue USB. Is there any chance I could download a copy from Dell somewhere? Or any other way to get it back to factory settings?

Many thanks!

Hi RALEV,

What is the exact system model?

If the system was purchased with Win 10 OS part of the order details, then check if the image is available here - http://dell.to/1Rd3bvj- if it is available, then download and install the same.

If the image is not available, then you would need to reinstall the OS using a retail copy or you could order the media here - http://dell.to/1vnT6CQ

Kindly review this link on how to perform a factory restore on the system - http://dell.to/1XZvpiw

Also, please click my DELL-username and write me a private message with the service tag and your Name for case records.

Thank you so much Rishi! This is exactly what I needed. Do I need to wipe the HD first, or will it automatically delete the Linux partitions? Thanks again.

Hi RALEV,

Since you do not want the Linux partitions, you could clean wipe the HDD - using diskpart commands - http://bit.ly/29I3i5e

The above links shows how to access the command prompt from within Windows environment. However, when you boot off the USB OS media, you could initiate the command prompt and clean it if required.

Alternatively, you could use a Ubuntu Live installer and use GParted to clean the disk and then install Windows - http://bit.ly/2qETgcp and http://bit.ly/2qzRsSD
