SMART Short Self Test Times out

I have a Dell 17 7737 and I upgraded the HDD to a Crucial M500 960Gb SSD when I first got it.

The My Dell tests says the SMART Short Self Test timed out.  I get the same results when I test using F12 at boot and testing from the BIOS.

Never the less, the SSD continues to perform flawlessly.

I checked the Crucial web site and ran the Firmware updater and it has the latest firmware for the SSD installed.

My computer always passed all the My Dell tests prior to this.

Any help would be appreciated.

The Dell system checkup doesn't play well with SSDs - as long as the SSD is working correctly, you can ignore the error.

Thank you for the reply.

Your answer matches other forums where I posted the same question at the same time.

Hopefully, Dell will resolve this issue soon.  Probably not since they don't offer an SSD option with my laptop.
