Screen Resolution of latitude E5540 laptop

I have an old program which works best at screen resolution 1280x720. The dedicated graphics cards will only let me set the screen at this resolution, when I have a Monitor/TV connected via the HDMI. Can I set the resolution at 1280x720, without the HDMI being connected ?
