Screen flashes white and other various colors on startup.

After I start up my Inspiron 15R and log in to either Windows or Ubuntu, the screen starts flashing white, blue, green, yellow, etc... until it eventually shuts off on its own. When this starts happening, the three (what looks like to be monitor?) buttons at the top of the keyboard glow in and out once, then go back off. What is happening? It's not software, because it's happening on both OS's. What is the issue?

Also it should be known that sometimes, only on Windows, I can get on it for a few minutes before it flashes again.

Hi PlusJack,

Kindly Remove the Battery, the AC Adapter and any other devices connected to the system. Press and hold the power button continuously for 30 seconds to release the Flea Power and then try to switch on the system with the battery and adapter connected.

Also run a diagnostic test on the system. Press FN+Power button together to initiate the diagnostics.  If the test fails, please make a note of any error codes listed. You can also refer to the link below.

It said it couldn't find anything wrong, yet it just did it again after a day of it not doing it.

Hi PlusJack,

Kindly provide the exact model number. In the meanwhile please flash the latest BIOS from the below link.
