Screen lags and freezes

Ever since i downloaded and installed windows 8 on my Inspiron 15r N5110 every so often (usually when i boot) my screen just goes white. It can do this for seconds, minutes, or for eternity. After searching for every available windows update and driver update on the dell/microsoft websites. I am at my last hope. Has anybody else had this problem? Is there a fix? It's starting to just plain piss me off. The only way i can right this is through my hdmi port. That's the funny thing, i can still use my computer if i have it connected through my TV. I attached some photos to help explain what is going on. As i said before, when my screen lags i can still use my computer if i have it connected through my TV via HDMI. My screen has frozen 3 times since writing this post..

As you can see in the last photo my computer itself is fine. It's either the video drivers are messed. My LCD is broke. Or i'm just really pissing someone off.

Thanks to anyone that can/will help.

Have you had any luck with a solution to the problem? I have a i7-7737 with the exact same problem and have found no relief as well. I have updated every driver I have, done all sorts of diagnostics with no results that help, they all say everything is okay. My computer's warranty ran out in January, of course, so I have no help from Dell on a chat unless i pay for it. I would be interested if yu had a solution for your problem to see if it would work on mine.

I took it to Bestbuy and they told me the lcd ribbon was bad. Paid 150 bucks and replaced it, never had the issue again.
