Slow Boot up in Inspiron N4010 / 14R

I purchased a Dell Inspiron 14R (N4010) laptop a week ago. the specifications are Intel core i3, 2.26GHz processor, 3GB DDR3 RAM,320 GB HDD running windows 7 home basic (was supposed to get Home premium but the dealer played some dirty tricks, still trying to make him upgrade it). Despite the good hardware specifications, the system takes really long to boot up. The windows login screen comes up fast enough. but the loading of the Dock, wallpaper, and the sidebar gadgets takes a lot of time.. is it any problem with the model or with my particular piece?

Didn't get any ... formatted my system a couple of times, but the problem still persisted. Then i changed the OS to windows 7 Professional and everything is fine now..

I also have the n4010, with too many problems to list... did you purchase the upgrade to professional yourself or was it provided to by Dell?

I'm wondering if Windows 7 Home is my problem.

I seem to have the same problem as you. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium. I'm going to install Windows 7 64 bit Pro or Ultimate to see if the problem is gone.
