Sound card question

I am interested in some Logitech Z-640 speakers (4 satellites, center, and subwoofer) and wanted to make sure it would work with my sound card.  I have a 600m and got a standard sound card with it, and am not sure if it is the required 4 or 6 channel.  If not, what will I have to do to upgrade it and does anyone have any recommendations?  Thanks in advance.

You would need an external USB sound device like a Sound Blaster Extigy or one of the Philips external sound devices. The internal card is 2-channel and has only a 2-channel minijack output - you won't get sub/satellite from the onboard sound.

Wow thanks for the quick reply.  Is there any way to keep it internal or is my only choice external?

If you need 4 channel, you need external.
