Strange, Inspiron 13 makes noise when I'm not on the Ol' Inter-Web.

I have the Dell Inspiron 13 7000 series running Windows 10. I'm not sure what happened but about a week ago I noticed that when I go on the Ol' Inter-Web I can't hear anything coming out the speakers. I've tried adjusting the sound via the the little speaker symbol on the taskbar (Conexant SmartAudio HD) w/ no success. When I play a video or if I'm gaming (NOT on the Ol' Inter-Web) the sound works perfectly. Please can someone HELP me figure this issue out & please make it simple, I'm not that computer savy.
