Studio 1558 Laptop battery
New 1558, can't open battery bay, all the pictures are of other models. Battery latch has no effect. Tried opening the back with the 3 screws, that's not the solution. How to get battery out? (Most of my use is at home, want to use AC, save the battery for trips)

I don't quite understand how the battery latch wasn't working. After you pushed it to other side and you can slide the battery out from the base of the chassis, close to the display hinge. I'm not getting the idea of saving battery for trip because those rechargeable batteries should be in normal use.

The pictures were of other models. I finally managed to remove battery, but it was all a waste of time because this laptop won't work at all with battery out.
